PZMiNW Technical Condition Certificate
Why Is It Worth Having a Technical Condition Certificate?
The Technical Condition Certificate (voluntary and mandatory) is required, among other things, for: vessel insurance and authorization to operate in European Union countries, where a valid technical condition assessment of the vessel is mandatory. The certificate also provides information, among others, on: mandatory vessel equipment, as well as the permitted navigation area and wind force.
CHOOSE SAFETY!
The primary purpose of a technical inspection is to determine whether the vessel meets navigation safety requirements and to define its current technical condition, in particular with regard to:
- construction and structural elements;
- correct installation of the propulsion system;
- maneuvering characteristics and stability behavior;
- operational efficiency of all devices and installations;
VOLUNTARY CERTIFICATE, issued at the owner’s request, for vessels from 2.5 to 24 meters in deck length, with engine power below 75 kW – based on the resolution of the Presidium of the Management Board of PZMWiNW dated October 24, 2007, taking into account the provisions of Article 27, points 1–4 of the Act of December 21, 2000 on Inland Navigation, as amended.
MANDATORY CERTIFICATE, for vessels with engine power of 75 kW or more, subject by law to technical inspections required to obtain a Certificate of Seaworthiness, i.e. a document authorizing the vessel to operate, issued by the Inland Navigation Authority competent for the vessel’s home port.
The legal basis for issuing the TECHNICAL CONDITION CERTIFICATE is the agreement concluded on May 5, 2011, between the Director of the Inland Navigation Authority and the Polish Motorboating and Water Skiing Association, entrusting it with the performance of technical inspections, concluded pursuant to the provisions of Article 34j of the Act of December 21, 2000 on Inland Navigation, as amended.
